The Trans-Japan Alps Race leads from the Japan Sea coast across mountains more than 3,000m tall to the Pacific side of the country. Only 8 days are allowed to complete the grueling 415km course, known as Japan's toughest mountain footrace. We watch as the athletes push their bodies to the limit.
