Gadgets: Amping Up the Analog Way
When most people think of Japanese audio amplifiers, they think of high tech ones loaded with the latest digital features. But one Japanese amp that is receiving acclaim overseas is a new and simple one made by a relatively unknown newcomer. On our Gadgets segment, we go behind the scenes to see how it's made.

On Site: Hotel & Restaurant Japan 2012
The experience of dining out has always been about more than just the food: the service, the ambiance are all part of it. But a current trend in the restaurant business takes the idea further: showing cooking as a performance for guests to appreciate. Today on our Onsite segment, we visit a hotel and food service trade show where we take a look at some kitchen systems designed for that purpose. We'll also see other developments in the industry, such as waiter-less ordering and even a sushi-delivering bullet train.

Japan is a land of traditions but sometimes in a modern world, it takes new ideas to keep old traditions alive. On the western coast of Japan there is a man who is the 6th generation of his family to be responsible for preserving a traditional type of pottery. To promote the craft that had been in his family for so long, he formed a collaboration with a very non-traditional partner. We'll tell you more about him on today's Special Report.
