Jigokudani Yaen Koen
In the Monkey Park here you can watch the snow monkeys bathing in their own hot spring pool.

Open:
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (November - March)
8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (April - October)

Entrance: 500 yen; children 250 yen

Access:
Route 1: By train from Nagano Station to Yudanaka Station (Nagano Dentetsu Railway). Then by bus to Kanbayashi Onsen (15 minutes).
Route 2: By bus from Nagano Station East Exit to Kanbayashi Onsen Iriguchi (Shigakogen Line).
From the bus stop to the park, it's a 30-40 minute hike into the forest.

Shibu Onsen
Hot spring village near the Monkey Park.

Access:
By train from Nagano Station to Yudanaka Station (Nagano Electric Railway). Then by taxi (5 minutes).

The Dosojin fire festival is held in this village on January 15th each year.

Access:
Route 1: By bus from Nagano Station direct to Nozawa Onsen.
Route 2: By train from Nagano Station to Togari Nozawa Onsen Station (JR Iiyama Line). Then by bus to Nozawa Onsen (20 minutes).
