Update

Sorry I haven't updated the site recently. I have some health issues and other things to take care of.

As you know Mediafire has disabled the account (today it says "locked", a few days ago it was "suspended", so that's that).

I will try embedupload or multiupload in the next couple days. I have also used filepost recently but for some reason avaxhome stopped using them, so maybe they know something I don't?

Gamefront is nice but theres too many countries they don't allow access from. Of course if you like Gamefront a lot, I invite you to mirror the files there on your own and post the URL in the comments.

Some comments have mentioned a youtube channel and the bulgarian torrent site is available, albeit it's 4:3. I don't have the URL's handy right now but feel free to comment with other sources and URL's.

I did try posting on youtube a couple years ago but NHK made a complaint after a few months :-(.

  1. Good to hear from You! There's a few sites to look for Japan-themed (nowadays I mainly use Youtube- the problem is that it is very likely that the channels will be blocked soon). the next site is: http://d-addicts.com/forum/ especially if one looks for Begin Japanology in nice quality ^_~
BUT I really really really hope that You will be back- Your uploads are treasures! -very often impossible to find elsewhere...
So take care! stay warm! and I hope that You will be back soon with some amazing stuff!

  3. I'm sorry that you haven't been well. I hope things are OK. I've always very much appreciated the effort that goes into uploading these programs. The YouTube and Bulgarian torrent site mentioned only have some of the content you upload, and your encodes are by far superior. If you work out a solution, I know there will be many grateful people out there! All the best.

  4. Please do not use any member only or limited download must pay-for to unlock sites. Or any of those jump through hoops places. I suggest splitting files into rars/zip pass wording them and uploading them sans full titles. ie BEGIN Japanology as bj-E-004-S-2 etc. Helps keep you off the radar. Unfortunately things like multi upload are more apt to delete files no matter what.
Please if you quit, let us know how to cap these off the site itself so the community can figure out distro or look at alt hosting. I have only found a iffy way and since the site uses flags it automatically starts recording over everything once it sees the flag. A real PITA since the flag often comes in the credits. Been hoping for a scheduler type rec method but have not found anything.

  12. Thanks for your efforts.

I used to recommend Gamefront but now it doesn't work for me anymore (files seem to be removed and I can't download any). I recommend Tishare which is similar to MF, except files aren't easily deleted from there and they allow only 150 MB per file.

  17. Even better, why don't you try newsgroups also known as usenet ?
    Some info : http://www.newsgroupservers.net/

For me they are the best to download everything fast as hell and reliable and with a good service it is 100% untraceable, add a good VPN ( https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/protect-tt from $3.25 a month ) and not even the MPAA nor the RIAA can catch you.

  18. I use the newsgroups constantly and for some ppl i think it would beyond them , too much trouble..
Thank you again librarian for all that you do i love watching most of the shows you post it's a nice escape from living in the midwest to see how other ppl live. get well soon and i hope everything gets better for you.

  19. issue with newsgroups is again no better than fileshare, pay for memberships, Limits bW use per mo, and retention over time. Most groups only have a 1 mo retention if that now due to pressures.
Hardly anyone knows how to multipart files utilize par files etc that are a requirement to usenet.

Hotfile sucks region blocking and limited BW useage.

It sucks but best solution is torrent. Just run a peer list to block snoops.

  20. to the poster who posted
"Even better, why don't you try newsgroups also known as usenet ?"
    after my post.

been there, done that. been doing it since dialup. while newsgroups have a purpose they can many times be more hassle than they are worth when trying to find more obscure things.

also sorry to burst your bubble but they are NOT 100% untraceable. but this isnt the place to go in to that anyway.

  22. As always, thanks for these. I get NHK World but it's in really horrible SD. Even at low bitrate, your stuff is far better and I hardly watch the broadcast anymore. Thanks again!

  23. Are you guys talking about this youtube channel? http://www.youtube.com/user/NHKWdocumentaries

Originally, it was NHKWdocs. They opened the new one, NHKWdocumentaries, after the NHK complained to Youtube.

  24. There used to be a URL to watch NHK world via Quicktime: http://plslive-w.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/app/high.m3u8 Some time ago, the URL simply went poof. Does anyone know if there is another valid URL?

    1. Yes, the new URL is:

      http://plslive-w.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/app/live.m3u8

This appears to be the URL that the mobile apps (iOS/Android) use for streaming video.

  26. mega.co.nz is up and running but be warned the site is currently in a BETA phase and the only browser that is not giving any conflicts with uploading or downloading is Google's Chrome.

    IE 9.x is DOA.
IE 10+ has downloading issues with large files.
Firefox 18 has major downloading issues with all file sizes.
the other browsers ... sorry no clue on them.

No limit on file size for uploading.
Downloading speed of up to 400kBs (multiple downloads at once still share that 400kBs bandwidth).

    1. UPDATE...
Firefox can now download with a manual save at the end of the download, but both firefox and IE are limited to 100MB and less files.

Looks like the download limiter of 400KB/s has been lifted so downloading now exceeds 1MB/s

I can't re-post files, sorry. The exception is files that are less than a day old. All mediafire links are broken forever. If you ask nicely and show that you tried but couldn't find the file elsewhere, someone may share it again.
