IDEA FACTORY has been releasing its romance adventure games since 2008. Set in the final years of the Tokugawa Shogunate, they feature historical Shinsengumi warriors such as Toshizo Hijikata and Soji Okita in ultra-handsome form. Women, especially, love them and the versions already span the range from TV and OVA (Original Video Animation) cartoons to a theatrical play, print publications, web radio and a stage musical. The Hakuoki series was out on its own as number one for the Otome Game of the Year 2009. It started on PS2 but has since spread out to PSP, DS, PS3 and 3DS as well for compatibility with most game terminals. The third TV cartoon series, Hakuoki Reimeiroku, goes on air this summer and a two-part cinema cartoon release is planned for 2013. The attention isn't going to wane! This is a product for both Otome (Maiden) game fans and girls who love history! These strong, ultra-handsome men are taking on the world!

Iwaoka's Saturn Apartment won the Manga Awards Grand Prize at the Japan Media Arts Festival 2011. That made her the third woman manga artist to win a solo prize. She'd entered several highly rated works and reached the final cut for this prize in the past as well. Besides her manga work, this richly talented artist designs stuffed toys and illustrates, too.
