Ginza Fashion Week
Ginza, a town of high-end mode and fashion... Two of Ginza's leading department stores, Matsuya and Mitsukoshi, have been rivals for 80 years but this year they collaborated on Ginza Fashion Week. The main highlight was the Ginza Runway Show, which painted the main Ginza-dori street indigo. Staged on a 100-meter denim runway, the show and exhibits on the theme of Japanese denim were out to prove to the world just how good that denim is.

Chanel's Close Ties with Japan
Chanel pulled out all the stops for the Chanel and Japan event in Tokyo from March 21st to 23rd. It included a full haute couture show as part of the Paris collection, a photography exhibition by Chanel artistic director Karl Lagerfeld, and a limited offer on items from the 2012 spring and summer prêt-a-porter collection. Both Lagerfeld and Bruno Pavlovsky, the president of Chanel France Fashion, arrived for the event. Why was it held in Japan, and what is it that makes Chanel so special? We interview Lagerfeld and Chanel Japan president Richard Collasse, report on the brand's ties with Japan.
