May 6, Sun. 1:10/ 5:10/ 9:10/ 13:10/ 17:10/ 22:10 (UTC)
Actor Ken Watanabe has been active in caring and helping the victims since the Great East Japan Earthquake hit the region, and organized the recovery supporting site 'KIZUNA311'. "What should be given the most attention in recovery?" This question has always been in his mind as Watanabe repeatedly visited the disaster area to bring in the needed supplies and to cheer nearly 10 thousand victims.
Through the interactions, deeper relationships are growing.
With the young leaders of marine products industry in Kesen numa of Miyagi prefecture, Watanabe is exchanging ideas to bring back the liveliness to the former leading fishery harbor of Japan.
A couple sent Watanabe and his wife, actress Kaho Minami a letter telling them that the wife gave birth to a baby which she was carrying at the time of the Watanabes' visit to the evacuation center in Rikuzen Takata of Iwate prefecture. The Watanebes revisited the couple to hug the new born baby, followed by another visit again this March after one year from the disaster.
Through dialogues with the residents of Katsurao-mura of Fukushima prefecture, where the whole village evacuated due to the nuclear power plant accident, he listened to their discomfort and feelings.
Our crew followed Watanabe's visit to the suffering sites, and look back on the earthquake disaster through eyes and activities of a man who has kept his mind toward the disaster and the victims. "What can I do?" This query has never left Watanabe's head. By bringing his thoughts to the audience, we question the viewers the future of the affected areas.
