NIPPON STYLE: A Creator dedicated to "kawaii" - Designer Hiromi Kishi
Hiromi Kishi was a charismatic shop assistant at 109 and now designs kawaii fashion from her base in Shibuya. She never received any formal design education but started her own shop with friends and the distinctive dresses became an instant hit. She took part in the Tokyo Eye fashion show in Paris in 2010 and is now known as Japan's leading creator of kawaii fashion with orders flooding in from Asia, Europe and around the world. She tells us why she loves kawaii, how Japanese subculture inspires her designs, and where she is coming from. We also watch the process of creation.
