Struggling to Reduce Radiation
Minamisoma continues to fight high levels of radiation, one year and seven months after the catastrophe at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. The city is 20 kilometers from the plant. Decontamination of residential areas started last month, and the local government is trying to find the most effective methods. Residents, however, say they're not being informed about details of the actual work.
