Producer Hiroyuki Abe and Gow
We feature the super role-play videogame UNCHAIN BLADES EXXIV with its characters designed by 15 top videogame, animation and manga and other artists. They include Yoshitaka Amano, famous around the globe for the characters he designed for FINAL FANTASY; KEI, who moved into the spotlight for his character design of the Vocaloid software HATSUNE MIKU; and Eiji Kaneda of Genesis of Aquarion. The theme song is by Nobuo Uematsu, composer of the FINAL FANTASY soundtrack. The all-star line-up extends to popular voice actors and actresses, too. This is the ultimate dungeon role-play game from the top artists in every field. But does this unprecedented use of talent result in a coherent product? What were the most difficult challenges in producing such a game? We have the answers and behind-the-scenes stories as well about UNCHAIN BLADES EXXIV, a game of note even for non role-play fans.
Creator's interview: Hiroyuki Nakayama Japanese Clay Animation Director
Nakayama's LIFE OF THE DEAD clay animation became an instant hit on You Tube when the first episode was uploaded in the summer of 2011. It had more than 300,000 hits and was nominated for the You Tube Video Awards 2011. This survival clay animation, unusual in our CG world, is a bit grotesque, sad and heart-warming all at the same time and firmly based on his own private passion for zombies.
