Fashion Week Tokyo Special 1
Here's the first section of a 2-part feature in which talented young designers taking part in Fashion Week Tokyo from October 13th-19th talk about their design philosophy and methods.
NIPPON STYLE:
Fusing Literature and Fashion - Jun Okamoto, Designer
Jun Okamoto launched his brand in Paris in 2002 and from 2008 collaborated with handicapped weavers of Saori-ori (hand-spun items woven freely with no formal design) to produce works of astonishing beauty. For his new projects, launched last year in his home prefecture of Kumamoto, Okamoto now designs on the basis of stories he writes, taking inspiration from his own literary images. In his first collection in the series, Breakfast, Champagne and Everyday Bubbles, Okamoto designed dresses based on images of clothes a woman would choose for a breakfast, champagne bubbles in a glass held by a man, and sunbeams and green of trees in the park. The second collection was a love story with a delicate touch, Bouquet, Magic and (pianist) Glenn Gould, and the third, this year's sequel, Flowers, Balloons and Rain Man. Here's an in-depth report on the first runway show by a designer who gives stories to his collection and wants to impart the joys of imagination to the wearer.

I can't re-post files, sorry. The exception is files that are less than a day old. All mediafire links are broken forever. If you ask nicely and show that you tried but couldn't find the file elsewhere, someone may share it again.
