2012-13 AUTUMN/WINTER CATWALK TRENDS SPECIAL
Enjoy our biannual Catwalk Special! This time we examine trends of the autumn/winter season.
Kazuyuki Yamamuro, chief editor of WWD Japan, analyzes the fashion trends emerging from the Milan, Paris and New York collections. The key themes of autumn/winter 2013 are aristocratic, voluminous and black. He takes up such examples as Louis Vuitton, Prada and Nina Ricci. On the big volume theme, designer Kunihiko Morinaga of ANREALAGE makes a guest appearance and talks about his impressive use of the invisible dimension of time by means of after-image-like forms. In the studio, we take a look at Tokyo mode brand items in the spotlight this season. FACETASM, for example, has made stylish pop short jackets from standard warm winter tweed and mouton fur. We hold them in our hands to observe the specific design points and discover what it's all about up close. There are bold predictions, too, about what is going to sell, based on the WWD fashion industry questionnaire.
