A Rainy Season Respite

It's the rainy season in Ohara, Kyoto. Venetia hangs a split curtain in the entrance hall in readiness for summer, dries not only herbs but also furniture items that are sensitive to the humidity with her wood stove, and removes summer dresses from the bamboo chest. In the evening, Venetia makes tartar sauce using tarragon from the garden.
