LIBRARY WAR THE WINGS OF REVOLUTION-Books

The best-selling novel LIBRARY WAR by Hiro Arikawa has now come to the big screen.

The animated film version of the novel which sold 2.7 million copies opened in Japan in June. It's pure entertainment based on the work of one of Japan's hottest authors.

LIBRARY WAR: THE WINGS OF REVOLUTION is an SF cartoon about a monitoring power that seeks to control all forms of expression and the library task force that protects books from the inspectors.

Set in Japan in the near future, the story revolves around a single-minded and enthusiastic new girl in the task force. It's a film about love and friendship inside the task force as well as fighting for freedom of expression.

Director Takayuki Hamana did the prior LIBRARY WAR TV cartoon as well, and THE PRINCE OF TENNIS series, too. The film version, though, is on a much grander scale with fierce action and amazing feats by the task force members.

We peer deep inside this joyous, exciting and entertaining homage to books.
