It looks like it is not being streamed this week due to licensing issues or whatnot, which isn't surprising considering that it probably contains clips of professional league games.
Edit: Anonymous readers of this blog have downloaded the episode from a torrent and generously uploaded it to filehosts to benefit everyone. You can get the links and info here: http://www.hellofuntime.com/2012/07/begin-japanology-20120712-high-school.html
I'm not surprised at all. Anything related to sports is blocked like certain episodes of Sprots Japan from sumo to judo, etc. You can still catch the last run of Begin Japanlogy at MHZ Worldview today @ 4:30 PM Eastern & 1:30 PM Pacific.
ReplyDeletetoo bad. thanks for the update and the posts. hopefully the episode will be released online somewhere in the future.
ReplyDeleteI got it with bittorrent
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you share it with us?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update.
it's not being streamed this week
DeleteI mean the guy/girl above me who says:
Delete"I got it with bittorrent"
Google "BEGIN Japanology High School Baseball (704x400 x264)" and you will find the torrent for this episode
ReplyDeleteSeems like there are seeds but the torrents won't start. Mind uploading to a DDL host?
DeleteErrors "max peers reached. . . yadayada" Seems like some sort of restructed site or the site that appears at top is not the orifginal host and is hosting timed out tirrents. I hate these sorts of sites since it goes against everything torrent is suppose to be. If someone can get these to dl or if I find a way around it upoad it somewhere less restrictive.

DeleteTook me 2 hours to upload the file to... :(

about the site. I download first time without the need to create an account. It's seams there were a limited number of public slots available, after that only member could download the torrent file with the correct tracker info. Anyway. I posted the file has been uploaded to sendspace (the only file host i found that allow files bigger than 200MB
DeleteMemberships, disabled LPD, DHT, and PE are against the intent of BT. Sendspace is pretty fast. 900kB+ Thanks to the uploader
DeleteBleah props to the site admin for dealing with mediafire. No more anon uploads and the uploads slow as #)$&@ this file with my speed should have only taken 2min to upload took forever!
DeleteFile inside has a crc hash for verification, not that you need it since the rar will error if it is a incomplete DL. :p

Thank you for uploading the episode to sendspace and mediafire! I have posted an entry for this episode here: http://www.hellofuntime.com/2012/07/begin-japanology-20120712-high-school.html
DeleteThank you The Librarian for uploading all these shows for us. It's the least this community can do to help each other out! Sharing what we like with those who like it as well. We lurkers will help in times of need!
DeleteI'm new here, so if I'm commenting on old news, sorry. I've noticed you can watch some programs that are restricted on NHK World are _sometimes_ streamed on http://www.jibtv.com. This was not the case with the baseball episode. I'm lucky enough to have Comcast where they show a standard def feed, that never restricts programming, so I did catch it. I'm curious how you capture shows? I admit I haven't checked your site out too much. Thanks for doing it though!
ReplyDeleteSucks here we have to pay $30 a mo to get the station that airs SOME NHK programming. (mostly raw cool japan (no dub over or subs))
DeleteIf you miss it, don't lose sleep. Marginally less boring than the moss episode LOL.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteAlso unrelated (sorry!), but I was wondering where you get these episodes from. I actually live in Japan, but I don't have a TV. I have often watched stuff via the net (great sites like this). However, as you may know, there will be a new law coming into effect in October that will greatly affect people who wish to view these shows.

I am thinking of subscribing to a satellite service where I can get TV over the net or something. It's a shame (and ironic and absurd) if I cannot legally watch these great shows from Japan about Japan while I am in Japan!
Can you stream live from www.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/ or are you blocked in Japan? I think some of the shows on NHK World are also available on some BS channels, but I'm no expert.
DeleteIf I click 512k a window pops up, but nothing loads...
ReplyDeleteWhat are BS channels? As I said, I haven't had a TV for a while (years), so I'm not up on the terminology...
Anyone else here also living in Japan?
BS must stand for broadcast satellite TV service. Here are the links.
ReplyDeleteNHKWorld 512K - http://www.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/w/movie
JIBtv 512K - http://www.jibtv.com/livefull.html
NHK World can be seen free 24/7 with no financial charge in these following US cities:
District of Columbia (MHz Networks) Channel 30.2
Philadelphia (WYBE) Channel 35.2
New York City (WRNN) Channel 48.5
Comcast is expensive & sucks from limited channel selections to capping internet bandwidth connection.
