Hiroshi Sugimoto's Bunraku - 2012/08/26





Hiroshi Sugimoto reproduced one of the most famous Bunraku (a form of traditional Japanese puppet theater, founded in Osaka in 1684) plays, "The Love Suicides at Sonezaki" at Kanagawa Arts Theater (KAAT) on August 14 - 16. He made good use of the technique of the contemporary art, and took charge of the composition, production, the art, and the image.

  1. I cant believe you posted this. Librarian, you are so amazing. I almost cried when i missed this, and was searching everywhere thinking that it was only available on the premium NHK. this has made my day and I am so excited to watch this. Sonezaki Shinjuu is my favorite!!!!!
