Rice Farmers Back in Business
Rice from this year's first harvest in Fukushima Prefecture has gone on sale at Nihonmatsu, some 50 kilometers from the Daiichi nuclear power plant. Last year, rice produced in the prefecture exceeded government-set radiation limits. This year, Fukushima is testing all rice before shipment to confirm that it meets the standards. Farmers are doing what they can to ensure that the crop is safe, including scattering minerals in the paddies to absorb radioactive substances.

I just found this blog and thanks! I live in Chiang Mai, Thailand much of the year and can get NHK world there. When I am in the USA, I have to get jibtv on my PC -- a sorta close substitute. And if I miss something, its gone forever. Now, I can catch up and download things I missed.
ReplyDeleteI do miss the "old" NHK of 3-4 years ago. Lots more cultural stuff and Science Zero rather than the present science program. Please keep up all this fine work.
Oh, Torrents would also be OK with me.
