[Focus]
1. The J. League marks its 20th anniversary
The J. League - the Japan Professional Football League - is playing its 20th season this year. The league which started out with ten clubs now has 40 in two divisions. Japan already had a national amateur league - the Japan Soccer League (JSL). So why was the decision made to go professional and what difficulties had to be faced along the way? We review the history so far.
2. World Class Players of the J. League
More than 900 foreign players have already played in the J. League. They include Zico, called a god by some, when the J. League began, Dunga, who captained Brazil to victory at the World Cup, and Yugoslavian national team hero Dragan Stojkovic who wowed the fans with his astonishing technique. They showed Japanese football what it meant to be professional and implanted the mindset for victory.

Hideki Matsuyama - Amateur Golfer
20-year old amateur golfer Hideki Matsuyama has qualified for the Masters' two years in a row. He studies at the Tohoku Fukushi University and was sorely troubled after last year's massive earthquake and tsunamis over whether it was really OK just for him to carry on playing golf. In fact, he received so many messages of support that he grew thanks to the voices of those quake victims. He now plays golf with a refreshed mind.
