NIPPON STYLE: Future Beauty Exhibition - The Futurism in Japanese Fashion
This exhibition, which won high acclaim in Munich and London, is running from July 28 to October 8 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo. It chronicles the thirty years of visionary Japanese fashion, and addresses its cultural background. Chief curator Akiko Fukai has created a show to be "seen, felt and reflected upon." She shows us around the museum to talk about the works she selected and installed. The exhibition reveals the incredible impact Japanese fashion has had on the industry in three decades and considers its future direction.
