NIPPON STYLE:
Expanding the possibilities of white and black armed with sumi ink
Shunsuke Hatakeyama, Designer

Shunsuke Hatakeyama left for France after graduating from Esmod Japon in 2007, worked for various brands there and then returned to launch his own eponymous unisex brand, shunsuke hatakeyama, in 2011. Black is his color - he believes it epitomizes Japanese design - and it was this that led him to use sumi ink. He does his own dyeing by spraying the ink onto each cloth to create clothes that change their shade as the wearer moves and reveal diverse aspects according to the lighting. In one of his latest work called "kuro" or "black", the black of the ink almost wholly obscures the white fabric beneath. Another work called simply "ame", meaning rain, took its inspiration from rainclouds and raindrops. He pursues the most delicate shades while ever returning to the black of Indian ink. We report from his studio as he prepares his 2013 Spring/Summer collection to discover his aesthetic world between black and white.

I can't re-post files, sorry. The exception is files that are less than a day old. All mediafire links are broken forever. If you ask nicely and show that you tried but couldn't find the file elsewhere, someone may share it again.
