NIPPON STYLE:
Refashioning Traditional Craft: Producer Yoshiko Ikoma
Formerly the editor of Vogue Nippon, as well as the editor-in-chief of Marie Claire Japon, today she is a member of the Cool Japan Project committee of the Ministry of the Economy, Trade and Industry. She is also a freelance producer of events that introduce the work of Japanese artists and designers overseas.
In 2011, she launched her first WAO exhibition, a project where she matched her fashion expertise with traditional Japanese craft. She says, "My work has exposed me to the world's most extraordinary things. But Japan's craftsmanship still stands out."
She brought leading designers into contact with craftspeople behind Nishijin-ori silk, Edo Kiriko glass, Buddhist statuary and lacquerware. The collaborations led to not only extraordinary fashion pieces but also her second WAO exhibition (Wa = Japan/Harmony, O = Birth/Creation). WAO was well received in Paris and New York.
We follow Yoshiko Ikoma as she sets up meetings between creators and craftspeople to combine their visions for advancing Japan's fashion.

I can't re-post files, sorry. The exception is files that are less than a day old. All mediafire links are broken forever. If you ask nicely and show that you tried but couldn't find the file elsewhere, someone may share it again.
